Become a Student Leader:

We’re looking for students who want to take the responsibility of leading Connecting East events in the upcoming terms. If you have an interest in all things gardening, sustainability, photography, and wildlife: then this is the role for you! This is a great opportunity for you to get involved with and something that will give you plenty to put on your CV. If you want to put on a brand new event under Connecting East, then we will be more than happy to assist and fund your ideas. Don’t forget to give us an email if you are interested!

Get Published on our Blog:

Have a passion for writing and looking to contribute towards a student blog? Whether it be a one-off article or a regular occurrence, we’re open to taking people who want to write pieces for our blog. If you have a sustainable topic you are passionate about and want to get it advertised to the student population, then propose your topic to us and we’ll let you take the lead. For those of you who can’t think of anything to write about off the bat, don’t worry because we have a list of blog topics that you can pick from!

Photography Competition:

If you have a passion for photography and for the wonderful scenery of Campus East and the wildlife we share it with, then enter our photography competition! There will be prizes for the winners & runner-ups, and the winning entries will be displayed in the 3 Campus East Colleges. Send us your entry (or entries!) to connecting-east@york.ac.uk, the deadline is Sunday 1 March, 2020. Not sure where to start? Keep an eye on our blog as we’ll be publishing an article full of tips & tricks when taking photos of wildlife in the upcoming weeks.

Be an Active Member of our Community:

You being an active member in our community by attending our events and letting us know what you want us to put on in the upcoming terms is enough for us! This is a great way to meet new people and experience the workings of a University society. Follow our facebook to keep up to date with our events.
